In the space between the fridge and the sideboard both words and images indicate long distances. The space also displays the super-imposition of the public and private media spheres. In any case, in this place, the conventional, representational pictures of a city equate to a personal relationship, which is manifested in the postcards as the conveyance of a personal message. World news is positioned to contrast with this; it is arranged and presented from an equally limited geographical perspective – an exemplary mise-en-scène of the global information society in an intimate, personal atmosphere.
